Customs and Import Regulatory Practice
Berliner Corcoran & Rowe's Customs and Import Regulatory practice advises clients on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) laws and regulations, including tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin. We are experts in free trade agreement and preference program requirements, and we have advised companies on claims under USMCA, CAFTA, KORUS, AGOA, CBTPA, Haiti HOPE, and others. We also support clients with due diligence, supply chain tracing, and forced labor laws, and we have experience with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) testing and certification requirements for imports. As tariffs under IEEPA, section 232, and section 301 have expanded in recent years, we have helped clients navigate these regimes and mitigate tariff impacts.
We have worked with importers across a wide range of industries, giving us an understanding of the nuances of importing agricultural products, chemicals, electronics, machinery, textiles and apparel, and other products. We advise clients proactively on compliance and strategy, and we represent them in audits, investigations, protests, detentions, and litigation.
